Meet our Main Speaker: Michael Boggs
Dove Award-winning singer, songwriter, and worship leader Michael Boggs considers himself a pastor; his pulpit just happens to be a three-minute song. Boggs’ songs have been recorded by Matt Maher, Big Daddy Weave, Alison Krauss, Diamond Rio, Jason Crabb, and Anthony Evans, among others. His newest single, the surprise breakout hit of Christmas 2024, Come You Unfaithful, received massive radio airplay around the country and became a top 5 song on the Billboard charts. Moreover, the Oklahoma native co-wrote a Coke jingle heard around the world, has written songs for movies like Facing the Giants, and has penned multiple top 10 songs in his career. Currently residing in Tulsa, Okla., with his wife, Keely, and son, Nash, he is the worship pastor at Rejoice Church, a weekly gathering that continues to anchor everything else Boggs puts his hands to.
Click below to see highlights from a couple of the sessions that Michael will be leading:
Not All Heros Wear Capes (Acts 8:26-40)
By the leading of the Spirit, Philip leaves a thriving and vibrant ministry in the city to walk, in faith, down the "desert road” to an unknown destination. The Lord uses Philip in a mighty way and possibly in a way that would spread the gospel further than he could have ever imagined. However, the space between Philip’s obedience and his understanding of why the Lord sent him down the desert road is where most of us live our lives. We don’t always get to see the fullness of what God is doing through our ministry and can feel like our impact is less than what we’ve prayed for. In this session we’ll talk about the space between trusting God in obedience and experiencing the results we’ve prayed for.
What Do We Do With Our Doubts (John 20:24-29)
Doubting Thomas is one of the few characters in the Bible whose name is immortalized in history, connected to an unflattering quality. Doubt. Thomas just can’t believe until he sees. But when Jesus appears to Thomas and the others after his death, He does something incredibly important. (more on that later…) As pastors and professional Christians, we aren’t supposed to struggle with doubt. We are supposed to have every theological truth packed neatly in our ministry suitcase, ready to coherently and cogently explain it all in a moments notice. But more often than not, pastors struggle with some form of doubt. We often find disparity between what we preach/teach and what we experience in their own lives. In this session we will talk about how Jesus dealt with the doubt, hidden in one of his closest followers.
